Two #forwaynecounty opportunities this fall to join the movement!

We are trying something new!

In the past, we’ve had people haul loads of non-perishables, literally pallets of peanut butter and tuna in to the Wayne County Fairgrounds as we learned that 1 in 5 people (2 in 5 children) in our community are food insecure, meaning they don’t know where their next meal will come from.

This year, instead of collecting food at the fair, we’ll be collecting non-perishables here at the church! It’s Bumper Crop Sunday. Fill a bag with non-perishables, bring it to church Sunday, September 9, and leave it at your bumper. Our #forwaynecounty team will pick it up and load the truck! This isn’t just a food drive. This is a part of a dream to see our community WIN.

Not only will we be helping fight hunger in Wayne County next week, we’ll also be at the Wayne County Fair with our #forwaynecounty fair booth. This year’s booth will be interactive for kids and families and will be collecting money to help fund a mentoring program through the area Boys and Girl Club. They aim to enable all young people, especially those who need them the most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We are excited to help fund programs that are intentionally investing in the next generation. If you’re interested in working the fair booth, you can sign up here.

We all love our county. Now let’s make it better.
